Reception: Rockefeller Lodge

We want to celebrate.  Let's eat, drink, and DANCE.

We are hosting an evening of dinner and dancing in celebration of our marriage. Our reception is being held at Rockefeller Lodge, in San Pablo, CA.

Rockefeller Lodge is an historic and charming property that among other things, was once the West Coast hunting retreat of the late, great, John D. Rockefeller. It is full of character.

Several years before the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, the estate was acquired by John D. Rockefeller and turned into his West Coast retreat and hunting lodge. After the earthquake, Mr. Rockefeller generously opened the estate to 1000 earthquake refugees, instructing his oil refinery employees to work around the clock to build a small village of shakes and housing, a few of which are still standing. It is then that the Lodge became known as “Camp Rockefeller”.

It is possible that there will be traffic leaving the city and getting onto the Bay Bridge, also around Berkeley where the freeways condense. We have allowed ample travel time, and will have a cocktail hour transition time (and a nice glass of wine waiting for you) at the Lodge.  We suggest carpooling to make the drive more fun, limit the number of designated drives, and of course, save on fuel, bridge tolls and vehicles neccesary.

*Please note, the Oakland Bay Bridge is a toll bridge, and there will be a $5 (cash or fastrak only) bridge toll when driving back to San Francisco.  There is no toll to leave the city on the bridge. (Think of it as your entrance fee to California's greatest city. HA!)
